The Employment Rights Bill was given Royal Assent on 18th December 2025 – it is now the Employment Rights Act 2025 and is law . It brings a wide range of reforms to UK employment rights, which will affect every UK business . Not all changes will take effect immediately; the changes will be implemented in phases throughout 2026 and 2027, with several areas still subject to consultation and secondary legislation before coming into force.
